About the Network
Background and development
The promotion to access credit for low-income sectors is one of the basic strategies to overcome poverty. It also supposes a very special conception of the poverty: this is not only a situation determined by the way or the quantity of the family revenues. The poverty is a structural condition that hinders the access and the incorporation to the institutional established means, it blocks the visualization and the use of the opportunities open to the rest of the society and it generates a way of life submitted to risks of all type.
The capital construction (physical, productive, human, social) constitutes a central nucleus of all strategies directed to overcome this structural condition if it is sought to embrace the problem with integrity. In this sense, the credit can be raised in a way to accumulate resources, being an opportunity to explore new alternatives of life, and a lever to unfold autonomous capacity of populations in poverty situation.
Sharing these convictions, a group of organizations from diverse regions of the country were auto-convoked to promote this initiative: To conform a self-supported net of institutions dedicated to microfinance and bias to associate each other tending to foment the development and the human promotion with professionalism, transparency and respect for their associates and the microcredits beneficiaries.
RADIM was constituted as well as an entity of second floor without ends of lucre; its main aim is to unify strategies, to articulate programs and to favor the institutional development of organizations promoters of Microcredits.
The institutions involved, conforming the Network (and in present time they conform the nucleus of charter members), are: The Woman's World Bank, Entre Todos Civil Association, FIE Gran Poder S.A., FIS – Fondo de Inversión Social S.A, Alternativa 3 Foundation, Grameen Mendoza Foundation, Progresar Foundation and Pro Social Housing Foundation. Also, the formation of RADIM was possible thanks to the support of the adherent partners: Ford Foundation, Telefónica Foundation, Etimos, Foncap, ProBono and GPS.
